Chelsea 2-0 Everton;Players Rating vs Everton

Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge with a dominant display against the high flying away side. Everton could have been easily conceded about 6 or 7 goals in this match but they saved from the humiliation by the Heroic display by Jordon Pickford in their goal. Despite a quiet 1st half Chelsea lead a goal at half time thanks to the own goal from Ben Godfrey then Chelsea came out stronger in the 2nd half as they continually tested Pickford in the search of the 2nd goal which they got it from the penalty spot and could have been more than 2 goals for The Blues. Defensively Chelsea didn’t have much to do but the defense has done their jobs when they call upon it. It’s another impressive display from Thomas Tuchel and his team as they keep the momentum goes on for Top 4 Spot. Chelsea yet again line-up at their 3 at the back system with some rotations and here is the players rating of the match.

Note;(GK-Goal Keeper, CB- Centre Back, LWB- Left Wing Back, RWB-Right Wing Back, CM- Centre Midfield, LF-Left Forward, RF-Right Forward ST-Striker, )

GK- Edouard Mendy  made one good low save from Andrea Gomez's long-range effort. Apart from that, he didn’t have much to do. Rating- 6/10

CB- Azpilicueta – Richarlison was one of the players on form in the premier league before this match but he completely off form today as Azpilicueta dealt well with him. It was unsurprising to see the MR. Consistent at being his usual consistent again.     Rating 7.5/10

CB- Andreas Christensen – another outstanding Performance from the Danish International at the back for Chelsea. Made one vital tackle on Richarlison in a 1 on 1 situation to deny him from scoring and completely dominate Calvert Lewin Aerially as the Everton Striker was kept Quiet by the best defender of the night for Chelsea yet again. He also showed his attacking capability with some nice runs and also creates one best chance for Marcos Alonso with a nice lob pass. Rating 8/10

CB- Kurt Zouma- start ahead Ruediger and Zouma did his job well for the Majority of the match. Dealt well with Alex Iwobi and also he tried to create something for the team in the attacking sense as well. But Zouma is more capable than this and also he seemed not comfortable on a certain occasion in the 3 at the back system. Rating 7/10

RWB-Reece James- alongside Azpiliceuta, James bullied Richarlison as the England International used his Physical presence well for this match. Defensively he was solid again but attacking wise he didn’t much do as most of the crucial attacking moves went to the other side of the field.  Rating 7/10

LWB-Marcos Alonsoshowed his attacking and defensive qualities in this match. Dealt well with everything that he faced defensively and attacking wise he caused a lot of issues for the Everton Backline. Crucial pass to Havertz for the 1st goal which was awarded as an own goal and he could have scored before halftime as he put through by Christensen but It was well saved by Jordon Pickford. Rating 8/10

CM- Mateo Kovacic- Back in the team ahead Ngolo Kante and he controlled the Midfield well and his through ball for Havertz was the main factor for the 2nd goal of the match. He also had some shaky moments in the midfield as well as he gave away some sloppy passes, overall it’s another impressive display in Midfield from him but he is still much more capable than this. Rating 7/10

CM- Jorginho- yet again controlled and composed in the midfield well and his calmness during Everton’s press was impressive for the Majority of the match. But in the 1st half, he gets away with some fouls and he unnecessarily committing some challenges which end up in dangerous free-kicks against Chelsea. But as the game went on he stopped doing those things on the pitch and also scored the crucial 2nd goal from the spot. Rating-7.5/10

RF- Timo Werner-starts on the right side of the attack and looking uncomfortable as he struggled to make an impact in the match. And during midway through 2nd half, he grew a bit into the game after he went to centrally alongside Kai Havertz and he had 2 glories chance to score but it was saved by Jordon Pickford, yet still Werner should have done better with his both chances. And compare to his previous display against Liverpool this was his underwhelming Performance from him and he should start to covert some easy chances into the goal for the upcoming matches. Rating 6/10

LF- Hudson Odoi- he is showing his versatility under Thomas Tuchel. He can do the job at the right wing-back and also he can do them in either side of the Forward positions. Played a huge part in the 1st goal as he manages to overcome the pressing of the Everton players and put Alonso through with a nice pass. And also could have an assist as his cross was slotted in the back of the net by Havertz but it was ruled out for the handball as he continues being a threat throughout the match for Everton’s Defense. Rating 8/10

ST- Kai Havertz- This is probably his best match in the league for Chelsea so far and it could be a breakthrough for him after a difficult start of life at Chelsea. His shoot ends up in the back of the net after deflecting off Ben Godfrey which was unluckily awarded as Own goal. Then he won the Penalty after a nice movement behind Everton's defense as Havertz was involved in both goals of the match. Also, his hold-up play was good as well and Tuchel might start him for the next match in the NO 9 position after this man of the match display from him. Rating 8.5/10 Man of the Match

Substitution

Mason Mount for Hudson Odoicame on for the last 24 minutes and creates some chance for Werner and also his long-range effort was well saved by Pickford. His Cameo appearance was impressive. -Rating 6/10

Ngolo Kante for Kovacic Came on for the last 10 minutes to freshness’s in the midfield. Won back the ball couple of times in the midfield and forced Pickford to make another brilliant save. - Rating 5.5/10

Christian Pulisic For Timo Werner – came on the dying minutes of the match. Rating-NONE

 Manager

Thomas Tuchel- what a start of life for him as a Chelsea manager. The team has been improving game after game as the players start to create a lot of changes since the game against Liverpool to show the progress of the team is impressive. Whatever players he selects for the match, they always do their job well, and also that’s what happened today as well and also his tactics were spot on again. There is still work in progress for this team but there is a huge reason for the fans to believe the Tuchel's process for this team as they going in the right direction so far under the German Manager. Rating 9/10
