Chelsea 2-0 Real Madrid(3-1 Aggregate) ; Players Rating vs Real Madrid and We are in final

Hello Istanbul, We are coming there for the final and see you soon. Chelsea booked their place for the Final of 2020/21 Champions League as they beat Real Madrid 2-0 on the night at Stamford Bridge(3-1 Aggregate). Over the 180 minutes of both legs, Chelsea is the deserving winner of the tie as they completely outplayed the Spanish side. In the 1st half of the 2nd leg, both teams had their moments in the match but it was Chelsea who looks more dangerous on the break as they took the 1-0 at halftime and on the other side Mendy was also forced into making a couple of superb saves from Benzema. But the 2nd half was a different story compared to the 1st half, Chelsea torn apart Real Madrid as they could have scored about 4 or 5 goals in the 2nd half as Chelsea killed off the game by scoring the 2nd goal and took complete control of this tie. And if it’s not for Thibaut Courtois and some poor finishing from Chelsea could be much worse for Real Madrid in both legs because Chelsea was that dominant and the deserving winners of this Semi-Final tie and now Chelsea will Face Manchester City in the 2020/21 Champions League Final. Here is the players' rating for the match as from back to front the whole team was superb and the ratings going to be high for all.

Note;(GK-Goal Keeper, CB- Centre Back, LWB- Left Wing Back, RWB-Right Wing Back, CM- Centre Midfield, LF-Left Forward, RF-Right Forward ST-Striker, )

Formation:3-4-2-1

GK- Edouard Mendy – made 2 vital saves in the first half from Benzema and especially the 1st save proved to be a massive moment in this match as Chelsea went to score after Mendy made the 1st save. Nothing to do in the 2nd half but the saves he made in the 1st half was superb. Rating- 9/10

CB- Andreas Christensen – Booked for a foul on Hazard and also giving away some fouls at the beginning of the match. But once the tempo of the match went high Christensen was immense again in the defense for Chelsea as he made some vital clearances in the match. Rating 8/10

CB- Thiago Silva – Benzema had 2 moments in the match but apart from that he was completely kept quiet by Thiago Silva. Looking dangerous on set pieces and could have scored as his header just went up to the post. He also had a match-high of 5 clearances as he produced another commanding display in the center of the defense.   Rating 9/10

CB- Ruediger- The Real Madrid attacks could not go past him as his pace and power were too much for them to handle as he dealt with everything he faced.  Rating 9/10

RWB- Azpilicueta -    it’s not easy to defense against Eden Hazard but Azpilicueta dealt with that very well as he produced an energetic performance for Chelsea. Put in a nice Cross for Havertz and it was unlucky to be not found in the back of the net. Rating 8/10

LWB-Ben Chilwell– Chilwell was outpaced by Vinicius Junior a couple of times but he recovers well from that and also defends it well for the whole game. Also gets up and down tirelessly on the flank and creates some problems when he goes forward. Rating 8/10

CM- Jorginho- his high pressing was the key for Chelsea as they forced Real Madrid to make the mistakes also calm and composed with the ball as he nearly set up a goal for Kai Havertz. Defensively Jorginho did his part well as he had match-high 6 interceptions. Rating 8/10.

CM- Ngolo Kante- what can I say about him? He was immense in the 1st leg and he was even better today against Real Madrid. Kante single handily destroyed the midfield trio of Kross-Casemiro-Modric as they couldn’t live with the power of Kante. Played the crucial final 3rd pass for both goals as he put through Havertz free which leads to the opening goal and also he wins the ball in midfield as he again put Pulisic through for the 2nd goal as well. He could have scored as his shot was blocked by Federico Valverde and also he created the match-high of 3 goal-scoring chances which showed that he is just not the type of midfielder who only can defend as he can do everything on the pitch. It’s not exaggerated to rate him highly because he is a world-class player and still one of the best in the world. When the best in the world produced a flawless performance you should what’s the rating coming for him. Official Man of the match, Fans Man of the match, and also my Man of Match.      Rating 10/10 Man of the match

LF- Mason Mount- Compare to the 1st leg he was a bit quiet but when he had the ball on his feet he caused a lot of problems for the Real Madrid defense. Works hard for the team but he missed glorious the 1 on 1 chance to score in the 2nd half but redeemed himself by scoring the crucial 2nd goal of the match.    Rating 8/10

LF- Kai Havertz-  It was a surprise to see Pulisic drops out in favor of him but now proves to be the right decision to start him. He could have scored a Hat trick as he hits the post twice which the 1st one leads to the opening goal of the match. He also had a 1 on 1 chance to score which was saved by the goalkeeper but he should have done better with that. His hold-up play and movement were really impressive as Sergio Ramos having a torrid time by facing him. If Havertz scored today he also could have got the same rating as Kante get but he was unlucky for not be on the score sheet today.    Rating 9/10

ST- Timo Werner -    he redeemed his miss for last week by scoring the opening goal of the match after Havertz hits the post. Also, his all-round play was impressive as the Real Madrid defense could not live with his pace and movement as could have had a couple of assists to his name and works hard for the team tirelessly.  Rating 8.5/10

Substitution

Pulisic for Timo Werner– came on for the last 25 minutes and makes a real impact in the match. Set up Mount for the 2nd goal of the match and also caused a lot of problems for the Real Madrid defense with his dribbling with the ball. Rating 7.5/10

Reece James for Azpilicueta

Hakim Ziyech for Mason Mount

Olivier Giroud for Kai Havertz: all 3 of them came on the pitch in the injury time just to have run down the clock Rating; NONE

Manager

Thomas Tuchel-  in the space of 101 days since he took charge as the Manager, Tuchel takes the team from 9th to 4th place in the Premier League, Leads the team for the FA Cup final and he leads the team for the Champions League Final. What a remarkable job he is doing so far in the short period and there’s still a long way to go for the glories. His team selections were proved to be right again because the question about selecting Havertz ahead of Pulisic was asked by all fans but it proves to the right call now. His Tactics and game management were vital again for the win as Real Madrid could not live with the counter-pressing of Chelsea. The manager deserves a full rating again for his contributions and now it’s time to stay focus on upcoming matches as Chelsea has some crucial league fixtures and also there is still FA Cup final to play as well.  Rating 10/10
